A CRPF jawan from Baliguda in Kandhamal district, Ashok Kumar Behera, died by suicide. Following an investigation, police have arrested his wife on charges of abetting his death. According to police, there were frequent disputes between the husband and wife. During the probe, it was revealed that the wife was allegedly involved in an extramarital relationship with another CRPF jawan. Police further stated that the wife had filed more than 5 complaints against her husband and his family members in the past. Ashok Kumar Behera allegedly consumed poison on July 7 and was undergoing treatment at the hospital. He later succumbed during treatment. Baliguda Police have registered a case and arrested the wife under charges of abetment to suicide. Further investigation is underway.
