Rs 175 Crore Revenue Loss due to Textbook Errors
The Crime Branch has made serious revelations following the arrest of former SCERT Director Manoj Padhi in connection with errors in school textbooks.
 
Officials say the State has suffered a revenue loss of Rs 175 crore due to the faulty books. According to the Crime Branch, there was gross negligence in duty and deliberate errors were made in the textbooks.
 
Manoj Padhi was in charge of the entire supervision, coordination, inspection and approval process. The agency stated that sending the books for printing without proper verification is a criminal act.
 
Based on this, a case has been registered against him under BNS Sections 316(5), 201, 61(2) and 3/5.
 
A special team led by DSP Narendra Behera is conducting the investigation. Further interrogation is underway to find out who else was involved in the lapse.
