At least eight people have died, and several others remain missing as a flash flood in the Bhote Koshi River swept through Nepal’s Nuwakot and Dhading districts. The massive flash flood was triggered after a large volume of water entered the Bhote Koshi River from the Tibetan side. Several villages have reportedly been washed away, while infrastructure across the Himalayan region has suffered significant damage. Authorities have urged people living along the Trishuli River basin, including in Nuwakot, Dhading, Chitwan, Gorkha and surrounding areas, to remain highly vigilant and move to safer locations until further notice. Nepal Police, Nepali Army, and Armed Police Force have been fully deployed. Authorities have urged all residents living on the banks of the Bhote Koshi River to move to higher ground immediately.
