Odisha Govt Makes Rate Chart Mandatory at All Medicine Stores
Odisha Government has decided to display rate charts outside all medicine stores across the State to bring transparency in drug pricing.

As per the new decision, the price of medicines will be uniform across the entire State. The move comes after the Central Government fixed the prices of 39 essential medicines.

The list issued by the Union Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers will be mandatorily displayed at every pharmacy and medical store in Odisha.

The 39 medicines whose prices have been fixed include commonly used drugs for blood pressure, diabetes, heart diseases and other chronic ailments.

With this step, patients across Odisha will now be able to buy these medicines at the same rate, irrespective of the city or district.
