In connection with the textbook error case, former State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) Director Manoj Padhi has been detained by the Crime Branch. The Crime Branch is currently questioning Manoj Padhi regarding the large-scale errors and irregularities found in school textbooks published by SCERT. An investigation team led by DSP Narendra Behera has been formed to probe the matter in detail. The team is looking into how the errors occurred, who was responsible, and whether there was any lapse in the review and approval process. The detention of the former director comes amid growing public and political criticism over mistakes in textbooks that have affected thousands of students across Odisha.
