The District Collector of Puri has announced that the entire city will be a ‘No-Flying Zone’ from Ratha Jatra to Bahuda Jatra as part of security arrangements. The no-flying zone will be in effect from July 16, Ratha Jatra, to July 27. A 5 km radius around Puri city has been declared a no-flying zone. Flying of unmanned aircraft and drones has been completely banned in the restricted area. The Collector warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone violating the order. The move has been taken to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the annual Ratha Jatra and related rituals, considering the huge congregation of devotees in Puri. Security agencies will monitor the restricted airspace during the period.
