The Odisha Medical Service Association (OMSA) has put its protest on hold following a meeting with Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling. After the discussions, doctors across the State will resume their duties from today. Odisha Government has also agreed to address the association’s concerns by forming a high-level committee to examine OMSA’s demands. The committee is scheduled to hold its first meeting on July 22. OMSA had earlier launched the protest citing various service-related issues. With the Government’s assurance and the formation of the panel, the association has decided to withdraw the agitation for now. Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling said the Government is committed to resolve the issues faced by medical officers and that the committee will look into all points raised by OMSA in a time-bound manner.
