Odisha has already received its full monsoon rainfall quota for the June–September period, achieving the seasonal benchmark nearly a month ahead of schedule. As of August 31, the state has recorded 1,154.3 mm of rainfall, surpassing the normal monsoon rainfall of 1,150.2 mm for the June–September period. The achievement comes despite Odisha recording a 47% rainfall deficit in June. However, substantial rainfall during the subsequent months helped the state make up for the deficit and cross its normal seasonal rainfall mark well before the end of the monsoon season.
