The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Odisha addressed a press conference on the revision of the state’s voter list. The exercise will continue till June 28, while the final electoral rolls after the revision will be published on September 6, CEO of Odisha R S Gopalan said. Block Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct door-to-door voter list revision starting tomorrow. Citizens can get their Voter ID details corrected through BLOs. Non-Indians are being directly removed from the electoral rolls, the CEO said. A total of 45,255 Block Level Officers have been appointed for the drive. BLOs will be present at polling booths every day from 3 PM to 5 PM in the evening. They will conduct door-to-door enumeration in the morning. The CEO added that mapping of over 3 crore voters has already been completed. A 17% logical error has been detected in the data so far. These errors are mainly due to mistakes in age, name, and father’s name. BLOs will rectify these errors during their door-to-door visits, the CEO stated.
