In a major setback to the Trinamool Congress (TMC), MP Kakoli Ghosh has resigned from all organisational positions within the party. Kakoli Ghosh, considered close to the former CM Mamata Banerjee, was elected from the Barasat Lok Sabha constituency. In her resignation letter addressed to TMC State President Subrata Bakshi, Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar clarified that she is not quitting the TMC, only stepping down from organisational responsibilities. She cited the party’s inability to stop alleged misconduct by another MP against a woman MP. After quitting the TMC, she met West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari.
