5.1-Magnitude Earthquake Hits China’s Sichuan Region; Rescue Operations Halted in Nepal

A 5.1-magnitude earthquake was felt in China’s Sichuan region, triggering concern amid the ongoing flood and disaster situation in neighbouring Nepal.

Following the earthquake, rescue and relief operations in Nepal were temporarily suspended for around one and a half hours as a precautionary measure.

Meanwhile, the water levels in rivers across Nepal continue to rise, adding to the challenges faced by rescue teams and authorities engaged in relief and evacuation operations.

The situation remains critical. The authorities closely monitoring river levels and assessing the impact of the earthquake before resuming rescue operations.
