A speed boat carrying tourists capsized off the coast of Vietnam, killing 15 Indian tourists, the Indian Embassy in Vietnam has confirmed. According to officials, the boat was carrying 32 Indians and 4 crew members when it sank off Vietnam’s southern island of Phu Quoc on Saturday. The tragedy occurred just 400 metres before reaching the shore. Rescue operations are underway to trace the other missing Indian tourists who were on board. The Indian Embassy in Vietnam issued a statement regarding the boat tragedy and said it is in touch with local authorities. Embassy officials are providing all possible assistance to the affected families and coordinating with Vietnamese agencies for search and rescue operations.
