SIR process begins across Odisha, BLOs to conduct Door-to-Door Verification
The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls has begun across Odisha. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct door-to-door verification as part of the drive.

The exercise aims to update the voter list by adding new eligible voters, deleting names of deceased or shifted electors, and correcting errors in existing entries.

BLOs will visit every household to verify voter details and collect forms for additions, deletions, and corrections.

Citizens have been urged to cooperate with BLOs and keep necessary documents ready for verification. The Election Commission has directed district administrations to monitor the drive closely and complete the process within the stipulated timeframe.

BLOs will visit houses in the morning and remain present at booths daily from 3 PM to 5 PM. So far, 95% voter mapping has been completed, with logical errors found in 17% cases, mainly related to age, names, and parents’ names, which will be corrected during verification.

The final electoral roll will be published on September 6. July 1 has been fixed as the qualifying date for the roll revision. Mapped voters will have to provide a photo and signature, while new photos can also be submitted if required. Two forms will be provided to every voter.
