A committee has been constituted to select the best legislator of the Odisha Legislative Assembly under the Odisha Best Legislator Award Rules, 2002. A six-member committee has been formed under the chairmanship of the Speaker. Speaker Surama Padhy will chair the Best MLA Selection Committee. Deputy Speaker Bhabani Shankar Bhoi and MLA Jaynarayan Mishra are members of the committee. MLA Bhaskar Madhei and former MLA Arabinda Dhali have also been inducted as members. Amar Prasad Satpathy and senior journalist Rajaram Satpathy are the other members of the committee. The committee will nominate the recipient for the Best MLA Award of the Legislative Assembly for outstanding performance, parliamentary conduct, and contributions made by members in public service.
