The capital city witnessed scorching heat on Wednesday, with the temperature crossing 42°C. The mercury was recorded at 42.2°C in Bhubaneswar. Jharsuguda remained the hottest in the state as the temperature again breached the 45°C mark, recording 45.5°C. Sambalpur and Balangir also sizzled at 44.6°C followed by Hirakud and Titlagarh 44.5°C. The India Meteorological Department has warned of continued heatwave conditions across western and interior Odisha.
