The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a new directive on the rendition of the National Anthem and National Song and has asked all States and Ministries to ensure strict compliance. The Ministry has directed all States, Union Territories and central ministries to circulate the guidelines and ensure that the National Song should be sung first, followed by the National Anthem. Emphasis has been laid on correct recitation and pronunciation of words during both the National Anthem and National Song.
