Another low pressure area is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal, bringing more rain to Odisha, the Regional Meteorological Centre has said. According to the Director of the Regional Meteorological Centre, a cyclonic circulation is expected to develop over the Odisha-West Bengal coast around July 11 or 12. Under its influence, a low-pressure system is likely to form by July 14. The system is expected to move in a northwest direction towards Chhattisgarh. As a result, heavy rainfall is likely over north and western Odisha. The Met Department has issued an alert for rain till July 16. Districts in the northern and western parts of the State are likely to witness intense showers during this period. Fishermen and people in low-lying areas have been advised to stay updated with weather warnings.
