The School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond on Monday informed that schools across Odisha will receive revised textbooks. The books with errors will not be withdrawn. Instead, revised books will be provided to schools to ensure studies continue without disruption, Minister Gond said. The revised books will be supplied to schools through District Education Officers (DEOs) or Headmasters to ensure proper teaching in classrooms. Officials who showed negligence during the investigation of textbook errors have already faced action. Further action will be taken based on the inquiry report, he added. A committee headed by the Development Commissioner has given 14 recommendations to improve children’s education and rectify errors.
