West Bengal Government has announced fish-and-rice meal at a subsidised rate of Rs 5. The meal will be served through 400 special canteens across the State. Announcing the welfare measures, the CM Suvendu Adhikari said that eligible women will receive Rs 3,000 per month under the Annapurna Yojana from June 27. Adhikari also said that liquor counters will not be permitted within a 1 km radius of educational institutions. The announcements are part of the new Government’s initial welfare initiatives in the State.
