Debashish Samantaray has resigned from his post as Rajya Sabha member. Samantaray met the Rajya Sabha Chairman C.P. Radhakrishnan and submitted his resignation letter. The resignation comes after he quit the primary membership of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), saying that the party no longer required his services. After Mamata Mahanta and Sujeet Kumar, Samantaray is the third Rajya Sabha member from BJD who is likely to join BJP.
