The Odisha Government has announced a major financial incentive for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) engaged in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 of electoral rolls. As per a letter issued by the Home Department to all Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), each BLO involved in the SIR 2026 revision exercise will receive an annual honorarium of ₹18,000. The Government has sanctioned a total of ₹81.45 crore for 45,250 BLOs across the state. However, the incentive will not be provided automatically to all BLOs. Officials will be eligible for the honorarium only if there are no complaints against them or if their work is accompanied by a favourable report. The financial incentive is aimed at supporting and recognising the efforts of BLOs involved in the electoral roll revision process across Odisha.
