Odisha Government will distribute one crore copies of a revised edition of Lakshmi Purana, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced on Thursday. The new edition will be rendered in audio by singers Namita Agrawal and Geeta Das, making the text more accessible to the public. The Deputy CM also announced that a ‘Mahalakshmi Corridor’ will be built at the birthplace of poet Balaram Das, the author of Lakshmi Purana. The corridor will house a Balaram Das Gallery and a Lakshmi Research Gallery to promote study and awareness of the text and its cultural significance. This initiative will create livelihood opportunities for people in the area. The Government also plans to organize events where 500 women can collectively recite Lakshmi Purana, promoting community participation and cultural preservation.
