Odisha Crime Branch Director General Vinaytosh Mishra, a 1993-batch IPS officer, has been assigned the additional charge of the State’s Director General of Police (DGP). Vinaytosh Mishra will take additional charge of Odisha DGP from August 16, following the retirement of incumbent YB Khurania. Speaking for the first time after being entrusted with the responsibility, Mishra said that maintaining law and order in the State would be his top priority until a regular DGP is appointed. Mishra said it was his responsibility to work closely with the police force and ensure the safety and security of the people of Odisha. He also expressed gratitude to the state government for giving him the opportunity to serve as the interim DGP. Mishra will continue to hold the additional charge of DGP until a regular state police chief is appointed.
