The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Wednesday gheraoed the Director General of Police (DGP) office in Cuttack protesting the collapse of law and order in the State. During the gherao, there was a scuffle between police personnel and BJD leaders and activists. BJD alleged that crime has increased across Odisha and demanded immediate steps to restore public safety. Heavy police deployment was seen at the DGP office to manage the protest.
