Baliantha Soumya Murder Case: Father demands CBI Probe
Father of Soumya Ranjan Swain, the victim in the Balianta murder case, has expressed dissatisfaction with the ongoing Crime Branch investigation and demanded a CBI probe into the matter.

In an appeal to the Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, Soumya’s father said the Crime Branch inquiry has failed to uncover the full extent of the conspiracy behind his son’s killing.

He urged the government to hand over the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation for an impartial and thorough probe.

He raised objections to only 13 persons being arrested so far, arguing it does not reflect the scale of the crime.

Soumya’s father claimed that nearly 40 people were involved in the murder and that all of them should be brought to justice.

He demanded that the accused be given life imprisonment or the death penalty.
