In a major relief for devotees heading to Puri for the world-famous Ratha Jatra, toll fees will not be collected at the Pipili toll gate on Gundicha and Bahuda days. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by the Transport Commissioner to ensure smooth transport during the festival. The General Secretary of the Bus Owners’ Association shared details after the meeting. Outside vehicles will be parked at Malatipatapur. Local vehicles and those with special permission will be parked at Talabania. Buses will operate day and night during Rath Yatra, based on public demand. Around 600 buses from within Odisha and nearly 1,000 buses including those from other states will ply during the festival. The Transport Commissioner-led meeting focused on crowd management, vehicle movement, and parking to ensure hassle-free darshan for lakhs of devotees expected during Ratha Jatra.
