Odisha Govt plans new road safety policy to prevent accidents
As part of major road upgrades to prevent accidents in Odisha, an 8-lane service road will be constructed from Palasuni to Tamando, the Works Minister Prithviraj Harichandan shared the information on X.
 
Harichandan announced that the Bhubaneswar-Puri road will be upgraded to 6 lanes. A 4-lane service road will be constructed on both sides of the stretch from Palasuni to Tamando.
 
To ensure convenience and safety for tourists, the Puri-Satapada road will be widened to 4 lanes. For the Tangi-Ichhapuram section of NH-16 via Brahmapur, a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for 6-laning will be prepared soon, followed by the tender process.
 
Additionally, work on 122 railway overbridges across Odisha will be expedited, the Works Department said.
