Dabugaon Custodial Death Case: IIC Suspended

Nabarangpur: Odisha Police has suspended Dabugaon IIC Raghunath Majhi in connection with the alleged custodial death of a 23-year-old youth at Dabugaon police station in Nabarangpur district.

The suspension order, issued by the Odisha Police Headquarters, cited “gross misconduct and dereliction of duty” pending disciplinary proceedings. Earlier, three other police personnel were also suspended after the youth was found dead inside the police station on April 29.

While police claimed the youth died by suicide inside the station toilet, the family alleged custodial torture and demanded a fair probe. The incident had triggered violent protests in the area.
