The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, demanding his resignation over concerns surrounding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. CJP chief Abhijeet Dipke, while addressing a press conference, called for the CEC’s resignation and warned of a nationwide agitation if the demand is not met within 48 hours, following The Indian Express’ report. The party has raised questions over the SIR exercise and held the Election Commission responsible for the concerns it has raised regarding the process. The CJP chief further warned that failure to resign within the stipulated 48-hour period would be followed by a countrywide protest movement.
