13th BRICS Education Ministers' Meeting in Bhubaneswar
Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi on Friday participated and addressed at the 13th BRICS Education Ministers’ Meeting in Bhubaneswar.
 
Discussions are focused on key areas including Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), skill development, research and innovation, mutual recognition of qualifications and academic leadership. The BRICS Education Ministers’ meeting has been underway in Bhubaneswar for the past 2 days. Ministry of Education hosted the third BRICS Senior Officials Meeting (SOM) under India’s BRICS chairship, on August 5, 2026 in Bhubaneswar.
 
Emphasising the transformative role of education in shaping the future, Joshi highlighted India’s BRICS 2026 Chairship theme, “Building Resilience and Innovation for Cooperation and Sustainability,” and called for collective efforts to strengthen education, research and innovation across BRICS.
 
On the sidelines of the summit, the Education Minister also held bilateral meetings with senior representatives from BRICS member countries-South Africa, Indonesia, and Iran to discuss cooperation in the education sector.
 
The meeting aims to strengthen collaboration among BRICS Nations on education policies, innovation, and student exchange programs.
