While the State Government maintains there is no fuel shortage in Odisha, ground reality in the Capital City tells a different story. Long queues for petrol and diesel have been reported at several pumps, while others remain locked due to no stock. The line for petrol and diesel is so long that motorists say it will be morning by the time they get fuel. An unprecedented scene was witnessed at Patia Chhak with vehicles stretching far down the road. At the petrol pump in Ghatikia, diesel is available but there is no petrol. With no fuel in stock, the pump has been shut down. Bike riders coming to fill petrol are being forced to return. The situation is worse in Baranga, where both petrol and diesel are in short supply. Two petrol pumps on Lewis Road remain closed due to lack of fuel stock. A similar situation has been reported near Pahal, where pumps are also shut. Motorists are facing difficulty as they travel long distances in search of fuel. Pumps near Rasulgarh, Kalpana, Ravi Talkies Chhak, and ISKCON Temple are also not providing petrol. People are facing severe inconvenience due to the sudden fuel crunch. Commuters, office-goers, and daily wage workers are the worst affected as they scramble to find fuel. Residents have urged the State Government to intervene immediately and resolve the crisis to restore normalcy.
