India successfully Tests 'Surya Astra' Rocket at Chandipur ITR
In a major boost for Indian defence forces, India has successfully test-fired the ‘Surya Astra’ rocket from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur, Odisha.
 
According to defence sources, the rocket has a target range of 150 to 300 km. The test was conducted to validate the weapon system’s accuracy and target-hitting capability.
 
The Surya Astra successfully hit its designated target during the trial. Senior DRDO scientists and defence officials were present at ITR Chandipur to monitor the test.
 
Private sector firm Nibe Limited has successfully carried out the firing demonstration of the Suryastra rockets.
 
The successful trial marks another step in strengthening India’s indigenous defence capabilities.
