The ongoing floods in Odisha have affected 66 blocks across six districts of the State, according to official information released by the Government. As per official data, as many as 12 blocks in Baleshwar, 4 in Bhadrak, 10 in Jajapur, 13 in Kendujhar, 22 in Mayurbhanj, and 5 in Kendrapada have been affected. According to the latest information, a total of 448 Panchayats and 1,304 villages have been inundated by flood waters. 10 urban areas with 64 wards have also been impacted by the floods. Around 7 lakh 85 thousand people have been affected by the flood. 2 lakh 77 thousand people have been evacuated and shifted to higher grounds and relief shelters. To manage the situation, the state Government has deployed rescue teams including 39 ODRAF teams, 7 NDRF teams and 53 Fire Service teams. Officials said rescue and relief operations are underway in all affected districts. Boats, food packets, drinking water and medical teams have been sent to the worst-hit areas.
