The low-pressure area has intensified into a depression and crossed the North Odisha coast near Balasore. IMD has issued Orange and Yellow alerts for 17 districts. The depression is likely to move in a west-northwest direction over the next 24 hours. It is expected to pass through north Odisha, adjoining south Jharkhand, and north Chhattisgarh during this period. Due to its impact, rainfall is likely to continue across the state today as well. The India Meteorological Department has issued an Orange Warning for heavy rain in Bargarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada and Balangir districts. A Yellow Warning has also been issued for Cuttack, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur and Nayagarh districts.
