Marking a major boost to rail connectivity in Odisha, the much-awaited Puri-Koraput Express was inaugurated today. Chief Minister Mohan Majhi and the Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw jointly flagged off the new train. The service was launched with the traditional green flag ceremony at Puri Railway Station in the presence of senior officials, public representatives, and a large gathering of passengers. The new express train will provide direct and faster connectivity between the coastal region and the tribal districts of southern Odisha. Introduction of the Puri–Koraput Express fulfils the long-standing aspiration of people by providing direct rail connectivity between the holy city of Puri and the tribal heartland of Koraput.
