In a landmark move for renewable energy, the Odisha Government has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with ACME Group and Japan’s IHI Corporation to develop green energy projects in the State. The agreement was signed at Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar during an interaction between Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and a high-level Japanese business delegation. The agreement will bring an investment of worth Rs 67,000 crore to Odisha, marking one of the largest green energy deals for the state. The projects will focus on green hydrogen and allied renewable energy production, strengthening Odisha’s position in the clean energy sector. Under the MoC, three major green energy projects will be set up at Paradip and Gopalpur. Over 8,000 youth are expected to get direct and indirect employment opportunities through these projects.
