Veteran Bollywood actor Nana Patekar passed away today, after suffering a severe cardiac arrest at his residence in Dona Paula, Goa. He was found unconscious at his home and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The actor passed away at around 5:20 AM. Doctors attempted to revive him and performed continuous CPR for 45 minutes, but he could not be saved. He was declared dead shortly after being brought to the hospital. A medico-legal case (MLC) has been registered. The family has not yet released an official statement. Nana Patekar was one of India’s most acclaimed actors and was widely known for his work in both Hindi and Marathi cinema. Over a career spanning several decades, he earned recognition for films such as Parinda, Krantiveer, Ab Tak Chhappan and Welcome. He made his acting debut with the 1978 film Gaman and later directed and starred in Prahaar: The Final Attack in 1991. His other notable films include Ankush (1986), Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman (1992), Angaar (1992), Tirangaa (1993), Krantiveer (1994), Ab Tak Chhappan (2004), Apaharan (2005) and Taxi No. 9211 (2006). He also became popular among audiences for his comic role in the Welcome franchise, which remains one of the most memorable performances of his career.
