President Murmu, PM Modi offer prayers at Sacred Sites in Pahadpur
President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday offered prayers at tribal sacred sites at Pahadpur village in Mayurbhanj district.
 
Both leaders paid obeisance at Gosani Peeth, Santhali Jahera and Ho Jahera, reflecting respect for tribal faith and traditions. Pahadpur is also the native village of the President’s late husband, Shyam Charan Murmu.
 
PM Modi paid floral tributes at the Samadhi Sthal of Shyam Charan Murmu, Lakhan Murmu and Sipun Murmu located on the school campus in Pahadpur.
 
Later, the Prime Minister interacted with students at the school and the Skill Centre in Pahadpur, encouraging them to pursue learning and skill development.
 
The two leaders also visited an exhibition showcasing tribal handicrafts and products, highlighting the rich cultural heritage and craftsmanship of Odisha’s tribal communities.
 
The visit underlined the Centre’s focus on tribal development, preservation of indigenous culture, and empowerment of communities from the grassroots level.
