Odisha Vigilance Raids VIMSAR Officials in Disproportionate Assets Probe

The Odisha Vigilance carried out simultaneous searches at multiple locations linked to two officials of VIMSAR, Burla, over allegations of possessing assets disproportionate to their known sources of income.

The raids targeted Establishment Officer-cum-Office Superintendent Dhanurdhar Biswal and Steward Aswini Meher following search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur.

Vigilance teams searched four properties associated with Biswal, including his residence at Dhankauda, a building at Gudesinga, his government quarters at the VIMSAR Medical Staff Colony in Burla, and his office chamber. 20 plots, ₹19.72 lakh in cash, one Hyva, 2 tractors, one expensive car, and 3 two-wheelers unearthed during searches of Dhanurdhar Biswal.

In Meher’s case, searches were conducted at five locations, including his government quarters at the VIMSAR Medical Staff Colony, a four-storey building under construction at Saurav Vihar in Burla, buildings at Pathanbandh in Burla and Govindpalli in Bargarh district, and his office chamber at VIMSAR.

The searches were underway in Sambalpur and Baragada districts as part of an investigation into alleged disproportionate assets.
