Odisha Leaders Meet Shivraj Chouhan, Push for Faster PMAY Housing in State
A delegation of senior Odisha leaders, led by Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan and Odisha Rural Development Minister Rabi Narayan Naik, met Union Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in New Delhi on Tuesday to seek the early allocation of pucca houses to eligible beneficiaries in Odisha under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
 
The State’s parliamentary delegation was also present during the meeting, where the leaders urged the Union Minister to expedite the process of providing permanent housing to eligible families across Odisha.
 
Speaking after the meeting, Minister Rabi Narayan Naik said the verification and scrutiny of beneficiaries are expected to be completed by August 27. Following the completion of the process, the authorised beneficiary list will be submitted by the Odisha Government to the Centre.
 
Naik said that once the authorised list is received, the first phase of PMAY houses for Odisha is expected to be allocated in September.
