Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari said the next 24 hours are crucial for Baleshwar, Bhadrak, and Jajpur districts as major rivers are in spate due to a deep depression. Baleshwar remains inundated after relentless rain. Several low-lying areas have been submerged. Baitarani River is flowing above the danger level at Anandpur. Jalaka and Salandi rivers are rising, increasing the flood threat in Baleshwar, Bhadrak and Jajpur. To manage the situation, the government has deployed 3 senior IAS officers to oversee flood management in the 3 districts. They will assist the respective District Collectors. Minister Pujari said the SRC office has been made 24×7 operational in view of the critical situation. Rescue and evacuation operations have been intensified in vulnerable areas.
