In a major development in the Ayodhya Ram Mandir donation scam case, Champat Rai has resigned from the post of General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. Citing moral grounds, Champat Rai stepped down from his position. Another trust member, Anil Mishra, has also submitted his resignation. All eight persons named in the FIR over the embezzlement of donations received at the Ram temple in Ayodhya have been arrested.
