The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully conducted a hot test of its new semi-cryogenic engine powerhead, achieving 88% of its targeted thrust, at a thrust level of 175 tonnes. The test was conducted at the ISRO Propulsion Complex (IPRC) in Mahendragiri, Tamil Nadu recently. According to ISRO, the test will provide sufficient confidence to proceed with a full-thrust demonstration at 200 tons. The milestone strengthens India’s next-generation launch vehicle programme and future human spaceflight missions.
