The Odisha Legislative Assembly has reconstituted its Standing, House, and Departmentally Related Standing Committees for FY 2026-27. BJD Chief Whip Pramila Mallik will head the Public Accounts Committee (PAC). The Estimates Committee will be chaired by senior BJP MLA Jayanarayan Mishra. Padmalochan Panda has been appointed Chairman of the Committee on Public Undertakings. The Committee on Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes will function under the leadership of Bhaskar Madhei. The Speaker also announced nine Departmentally Related Standing Committees. MLAs Sidhant Mohapatra, Santosh Khatua, Babu Singh, Purna Chandra Sethi, Bibhuti Bhusan Pradhan, Sudhir Ranjan Pattjoshi, Manohar Randhari, and Sanatan Bijuli are among those named as chairpersons. In addition, several House and Special Committees have been reconstituted. These panels will take up key issues including the Mahanadi water dispute, Jagannath Temple development works, environmental pollution, power distribution challenges, displacement due to development projects, railway network expansion, inter-state boundary disputes, and concerns of linguistic minorities.
