PM Modi participates in Historic 75-years of 'Somnath Amrit Mahotsav'
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday participated in the Somnath Amrit Mahotsav, a special celebration marking 75 years of the reconstruction of the historic Somnath Temple.
 
PM Modi arrived in Somnath amid a grand roadshow. The Prime Minister offered prayers at the Somnath Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva. He performed rituals and paid respects at the sanctum sanctorum.
 
During the event, the Prime Minister released a special commemorative stamp and coin highlighting the legacy, resilience and spiritual importance of the Somnath Temple.
 
Indian Air Force helicopters showered flower petals over the temple complex from the sky, adding to the festive atmosphere.
 
Addressing the gathering, PM Modi recalled India’s nuclear tests of May 11 and May 13, saying that no power in the World can make India bow down or suppress it.
 
The event was attended by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi and other dignitaries.
