Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit Appointed New Chief of Indian Air Force

Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit has been appointed as the new Chief of the Indian Air Force, bringing with him nearly four decades of extensive experience in military aviation and operations.

An accomplished Experimental Test Pilot and Qualified Flying Instructor, Air Marshal Dixit has flown more than 3,500 hours on a wide range of aircraft, including the Mirage-2000, various MiG variants, HPT-32, An-32, Avro, Kiran, Jaguar, IL-78, Hawk and Tejas.

Commissioned into the fighter stream of the Indian Air Force on December 6, 1986, Air Marshal Dixit is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Defence Staff Service College in Bangladesh and the National Defence College.

Throughout his distinguished career, he has participated in several important operations and military exercises, including Operation Safed Sagar, Operation Rakshak, Cope-India and Operation Sindoor.

Air Marshal Dixit has also played a significant role in promoting indigenous aviation capabilities, particularly the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas and other indigenous aircraft projects.
