The Bharatiya Janata Party retained Manjalpur Assembly Constituency in Gujarat after Satendrabhai Govindbhai Patel, popularly known as Satish Patel, won the by-election on Monday. As per data released by the Election Commission, Patel secured 55,481 votes. He defeated Congress candidate Bhikhabhai Rabari by a margin of 30,630 votes. Rabari received 24,851 votes. NOTA got 2,247 votes. The bypoll was necessitated following the demise of sitting BJP MLA Yogesh Patel, who had represented Manjalpur for several terms. The ruling BJP had fielded former Vadodara Municipal Corporation councillor Satish Govindbhai Patel.
