The Similipal Tiger Reserve and National Park in Mayurbhanj district will remain closed for tourists from June 29 in view of the monsoon season. Similipal authorities issued the announcement citing safety and wildlife conservation concerns during heavy rainfall as the dense forests become prone to landslides and slippery roads. While the core sanctuary and safari routes will remain closed, the Jamuani and Talabandh Eco Tourism Complexes will continue to operate for tourists.
