Lok Sabh Passes Supreme Court Amendment Bill
The bill to increase the number of judges in the Supreme Court was passed in the Lok Sabha on Monday. As per the amendment, the strength of Supreme Court judges, excluding the Chief Justice of India, will be increased from 33 to 37.

The Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Amendment Bill was passed in the Lok Sabha without discussion through a voice vote. Once approved by Parliament and the President, the increase will help reduce the pendency of cases and speed up hearings in the apex court.
