Asian Games: Yashvir, Rohit Clinch Double Podium Finish in Men’s Javelin Throw

India secured a double podium in the men’s javelin throw at the 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya. Yashvir Singh won silver with a personal-best throw of 85.72 metres, while Rohit Yadav took bronze with 84.35 metres.

Yashvir, 24, produced his best throw on his sixth and final attempt to move into second place. Rohit, 25, secured third place with his third throw and remained on the podium.

The result came in the absence of India’s defending champion Neeraj Chopra, who withdrew from the Games due to an ankle ligament injury. Yashvir had earlier won bronze at the 2026 Commonwealth Games with an 85.41-metre throw.
